Bakery Policies & Order Terms
By placing an order with Sweets by Kash, you agree to the following policies and terms.

Custom Order Notice
All custom orders require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice and are subject to availability.

Payments & Booking

Orders under $100 USD: Payment is required in full at the time of booking.

Orders over $100 USD: A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date.

The remaining balance is due two (2) weeks prior to your scheduled event.
Please note: Your order is not officially booked until payment/retainer has been received.

Invoice Due Dates & Late Payments
All payment due dates will be listed on the final invoice, and a reminder email will be sent on the due date. We do not offer payment plans outside of the payment options provided through your invoice.

If the remaining balance is not paid in full by the due date:

You will have 24 hours to submit payment before the order is canceled

Any payments made up to that point will be forfeited

Delivery
There is a $100 minimum order required for delivery. We have very limited availability for delivery, and dates do book quickly. When placing your order, please specify if you will need delivery and we will make every effort to accommodate.

For all deliveries, clients must provide:

The event start time, and/or
-
A general timeline of the celebration

For weddings, a full-day timeline is required so we can ensure delivery and setup occur at the most appropriate time.
​
If we experience delays due to traffic, weather, or other circumstances outside of our control, we will communicate with the appropriate party and provide an updated ETA. Sweets by Kash is not responsible for delays caused by these circumstances.​
Delivery and setup fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Pick-Up
If you are picking up your order, a designated pick-up time will be scheduled at the time of booking. Your pick-up time will be confirmed again during the week of your order. Any changes must be communicated at that time and are subject to availability.

If you are unable to arrive at your scheduled pick-up time:

You may reschedule one (1) time, based on availability and what fits within our current schedule.

If you do not arrive at your rescheduled pick-up time:

Your items will be considered forfeited and may be donated

No refund will be issued

Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday: 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Sunday: By Appointment ONLY​
We are unable to accommodate pick-ups outside of these hours unless prior arrangements have been made and approved in advance.

Shipping
Per Illinois state law, we are only unable to ship any food items. The ONLY products that will be shipped are edible images. We utilize UPS 2DAY service for all orders unless overnight shipping is selected. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen or delayed packages.

Tiered Cake Policies
Tiered cakes require additional time, care, and safe transport.
​​
3-Tier Cakes & Larger
Any cake that is three (3) tiers or more requires delivery. Pick-up is not permitted for these cakes.

2-Tier Cakes
Two-tier cakes may be eligible for pick-up, but strict requirements must be met. If these requirements cannot be met, delivery will be required. No exceptions.

Pick-up requirements for two-tier cakes:

An SUV or large truck is required (tiered cakes will not fit safely in a standard sedan)

The vehicle must have working air conditioning if during summer months

The cake must be placed flat on the floorboard

Cakes may NOT be transported on a seat, in the trunk or in someone’s lap

Once the cake is transferred into the client’s possession, Sweets by Kash is not responsible for any damage that occurs during transportation, handling, or storage. We provide clear care instructions, and by choosing pick-up, the client releases all liability once the cake is inside their vehicle.

Product Care & Responsibility
Care and storage instructions will be provided with every order. Once your order has been picked up or delivered and has transferred possession, Sweets by Kash is no longer responsible for the product (including damage, melting, mishandling, or improper storage).

Illness & Emergency Situations
If our staff becomes ill and is unable to complete your order, you will be notified immediately. We will make every attempt to secure a back-up baker. If a replacement is not available, you may choose to:

Reschedule your order, or
-
Receive a refund
If you become ill or have been in contact with someone who is ill, please notify us as soon as possible so we can arrange porch pick-up. Porch pick-up will be the only option available in this situation.

Severe Weather & Uncontrollable Events
In the event of severe weather, every effort will be made to complete and transfer your order safely. Delivery or pick-up times may be adjusted, and alternate arrangements may be made at our discretion.
No refunds will be issued due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
severe weather, violence, political unrest, war, or acts of God.
Display Rentals & Setup
We do not offer any displays for cakes or sweets. Please contact your caterer or event coordinator to arrange for these to be provided ahead of your event.
We do offer set up of sweets onto displays provided by you.
Allergies
We are happy to accommodate customers with intolerances or mild allergies to common ingredients when possible. However, our bakery is not allergen-free, and cross-contamination may occur in very rare instances.
If you have a severe allergy or require a facility that is 100% free of specific allergens, we can recommend trusted bakeries that may better meet your needs.
Florals

All real and faux florals used on cakes and desserts will be provided by Sweets by Kash.

FOR WEDDINGS ONLY: If your florist requests use of their florals, we do require a consultation call in advance to discuss options available. Some florals may not be available for use.
Edible Image Purchases

All sales are final and are not refundable, exchangeable or returnable.

Image orders will NOT be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged by third party shipping company.

If your order is damaged or lost, photos must be sent to us so a claim can be filed.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your order for any reason:

The retainer is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
-
No refunds will be issued for orders canceled less than two (2) weeks before the event date.

Orders canceled with 30 days’ notice or more will be refunded for any monies paid minus the retainer.
Sweets by Kash reserves the right to update or modify these policies at any time without notice. The terms and policies in place at the time your order is booked will remain in effect for that order.
